The Results are in! After a 1 year MILD (Minimally Invasive Lumbar Decompression) Procedure effectiveness on Lumbar Spinal Stenosis (LSS) study was conducted on patients that received the procedure along with conventional medical management the published results & recap are now available.
The study was a randomized controlled trial of 2 groups. Both groups were allowed unrestricted access to conventional “real-world” therapies. The goal was to see how the MILD procedure performed on LSS patients in addition to conventional medical management over the course of 1 year in comparison to only conventional medical management.
The results demonstrate that the MILD procedure in conjunction with conventional medical management significantly improved the functional outcomes of those with LSS after 1 year, inlcuding:
- A 16-point mean change ODI improvement
- 250% improvement in walking time compared to baseline prior to the procedure
- 0% device or procedure-related adverse or serious adverse events
- And less than 8% of MILD patients required a subsequent intervention
This data shows us that the MILD procedure is shown to be both a safe and effective procedure for patients suffering from LSS. If this is a condition you suffer from and are interested in learning more, contact the office to setup an appointment with our provider team to discuss.
